Dennis the Menace.

For those of you who haven't had the great pleasure to become acquainted with Dennis Blackburn, I'd thought I'd give a little tribute to this great person and some reasons why I am so happy/grateful/thankful/excited/lucky to marry him.

Dennis always...

--Opens my car door. Even when it's clearly impractical and out of the way he always manages to do so.
--Laughs at my jokes. Sometimes I'm not sure if he's laughing at me or the awesome joke.
--Rubs my feet. He insists on rubbing them. I'm not kidding.
--Gives me compliments. I'm convinced I'm the hottest/smartest/coolest girl in the world.
--Listens to me. He is a great listener and always gives great feedback.
--Loves me despite my hygiene issues: not shaving my legs/brushing my teeth/showering/washing my hair (wow, I'm disgusting)
--Makes me breakfast. He is an amazing cook. I think there's a little role reversal there.
--Finds time for me in his busy schedule. He sacrifices a LOT of time for me.
--Watches scary movies with me. Although I have sworn those off.
--Surprises me with chocolate covered raisins. He knows that I am addicted and will do anything for them.
--Puts up with me during that time of the month (I have crazy mood swings lately)
--Drives up to Salt Lake from Provo a heck of a lot more than I drive down there.
--Fixes and builds anything. He is amazing at construction and always offers his help around my house.
--Waits on me hand and foot. Even before I need something he is already up and retrieving it.

The list could go on for days but for your sanity I shortened it quite a bit. Anyway I wanted to prove to Dennis that I could be a little cheesy from time to time, even though it's completely out of character for me to do so publicly. I'm so lucky to be marrying this great guy. I hope you all are fortunate enough to get to know Dennis some day.

Dennis, you are screwed. Are you sure you want to do this? If you look on Ash's blog page, you will see a count down to your doom. You have 3 months and 3 days to turn back before it is too late, at the time I am posting this.

Honestly - she doesn't shower. That is re-freaking-diculous. I once saw her go out with guys and she had mud dried in her hair from four-wheeling earlier that day. She hadn't showered for like 18 days at that time. And, I might add that once girls get married, they just get grosser. Going the bathroom in front of you, telling you about nasty girl things - just beware.

Oh I just couldn't help but laugh at Colby's comment! I think you are an awesome girl and you are going to be such an amazing wife! He's lucky and sounds like you are too. Can't wait to meet him!

I'm not sure how this works. We'll see if my comment is left. This is Dennis. Everything that was said was very kind, generous, and exaggerated. Those are the things I try to remember to do. The list of things Ashley does for me is much longer than that. The reason I do all those things is because I feel like I'm constantly in debt to her. She's the best.

Colby...are you trying to talk me out of marriage? I'm deducing that you don't want me to be part of the family. I kept waiting for the "Just kidding" or "Just messing with you man, my sister is the best." I'm convinced now I'll never be in with the Engar boys.

Why Laura is almost as good as Dennis:

--Opens my car door. Even when it's clearly impractical and out of the way he always manages to do so.
(Ok, so I didn't do that, but I would've if I would have known its importance)
--Laughs at my jokes. Sometimes I'm not sure if he's laughing at me or the awesome joke.
(I always laugh at your awesome jokes)
--Rubs my feet. He insists on rubbing them. I'm not kidding.
(Ok, so I didn't do that either)
--Gives me compliments. I'm convinced I'm the hottest/smartest/coolest girl in the world.
(Didn't I have you convinced of all that already?)
--Listens to me. He is a great listener and always gives great feedback.
(I love listening to you and always will)
--Loves me despite my hygiene issues: not shaving my legs/brushing my teeth/showering/washing my hair (wow, I'm disgusting) -
(In order to make you feel better about it, I didn't shower either)
--Makes me breakfast. He is an amazing cook. I think there's a little role reversal there.
(I microwaved veggie burgers for you almost nightly)
--Finds time for me in his busy schedule. He sacrifices a LOT of time for me.
(You are my life)
--Watches scary movies with me. Although I have sworn those off.
(I watched them with you, even though you swore them off like 2 years ago)
--Surprises me with chocolate covered raisins. He knows that I am addicted and will do anything for them.
(I ate half your box of the ones you bought)
--Puts up with me during that time of the month (I have crazy mood swings lately)
(You took your bad moods out on me...and I loved it)
--Drives up to Salt Lake from Provo a heck of a lot more than I drive down there.
(I let you sleep in my bed)
--Fixes and builds anything. He is amazing at construction and always offers his help around my house.
(I put our IKEA furniture together)
--Waits on me hand and foot. Even before I need something he is already up and retrieving it.
(I will wait on you hand and foot if you admit that if I was a guy, you would have married me)

We (Adrienne and I, I guess Willis too) are happy for you guys. I am certainly hopefull that I will meet Dennis.

Dennis, you'll be in with the Engar boys. Not to worry. Just watch out for the oldest Engar daughter, Travis; she's a real pain in the ass.

Oh my gosh... the post was quite amazing Ashley, but these comments are just truely hilarious! I want to say a couple things... #1- I can't wait to meet this amazing Dennis, and #2 It's a good thing Laura is getting married too, becuase if she wasn't, I think we would have to be on suicidal watch 24-7... She's in love with you! Oh how I love my friends!!!

Dennis - Colby was serious. Not because he doesn't want you as part of the family but because he doesn't want to you say you were not warned and try to get out of it later.

I wasl almost mad at Tyler, but then I realized the oldest daughter he was talking about was really my elder brother. So now I am not mad.

I know you know Ash doesn't cook. She eats out well though. She is also REALLY good at shopping. I am going to give Ash a cook book in hopes that it will make a nice book to use as a paper weight because we all know she won't open it. I will try though. Some times I am amazed we came from the same mom. I would say that she was raised by my dad, but even he can cook some things and he showers. She was adopted at 17. Just teasing Ash. Love you!

Your sis.
